Behind the Scenes: Meet our Business Development Manager, Teo!
1. Who is Teo in your own words?
Teo: I am originally from Italy and I moved to Berlin in 2011 after receiving a Master Degree in Social Communication. In my free time, I like to read books, listen to music and go to the cinema. I am constantly fascinated by Berlin's cultural offerings and try to make the most out of them.
2. You are responsible for Sales in Southern Europe for Parcel Perform, what excites you most about the e-Commerce growth in the region?
Teo: E-commerce in Southern Europe may have developed slower than in the rest of the continent for several reasons. However, it is great to see that it has grown tremendously in recent years and will most definitely continue to grow exponentially in the years to come. With e-Commerce development and customer’s expectations constantly changing, it will naturally pose difficulties in managing and controlling logistical processes.
3. What does a typical day look like for you at Parcel Perform and what are you currently working on?
Teo: I normally start my day checking appointments on my calendar and to catch up on the internal team discussion on Slack. In the morning, we have our daily stand up with the European team where we share our plans for the day.
As a business developer with a focus on growing our customer base, I divide part of my day in talking to customers through different channels and prospecting to build my pipeline. The rest of my day usually includes internal meetings and calls with my potential clients. Personally, in the evenings I like to have some time reading articles on Linkedin or listening to the latest podcasts. Especially being in this ever-changing industry, it is important to stay up to date with the latest news!
4. Any advice to share to become an inspirational business developer like you
Teo: I don’t have any special secrets to share but I would advise aspiring business developers to really focus on listening to their clients and solving the problems they have at hand. It takes courage to listen with an open heart but I believe that creating empathy with potential partners is the key to building rapport and establishing trust.
5. How is Parcel Perform different from other companies you have worked for?
Teo: Parcel Perform has a winning culture. Each member of the team is welcoming and ready to help. Also, working with people from so many different backgrounds across 3 offices is always fascinating and stimulating.
6. A motto or personal mantra to end off?
Teo: Treat everyone with kindness and respect, including yourself! Our team in Berlin is expanding!
